Waste incineration generates considerable amounts of combustion residues. This slag is usually sent to landfill without further treatment or processing. However, in the interests of promoting the circular economy, we are committed to conserving resources in waste treatment processes.
Our Langes Feld site therefore uses a demetallisation plant to process waste incineration residues. This recovers metals from the slag. On the one hand, this reduces the amount of waste sent to landfill; on the other hand, the recovered metals can replace primary materials in metal production.
